Taquile island is a spectacular place to stay overnight, and enjoy of the quietness and beauty of lake Titicaca, Taquile island is visited basically in day trips, when overnighting the traveler can observe the true face of the island, it remains quiet and serene, as well The island offers hidden landscapes y some pre –Incan remains to be discovered.

Day 01. - Uros / Taquile.- This excursion begins at 7:00 am with transfer from your hotel to the port. Then by Fast motor boat, that will make of this an enjoyable journey (35 feet long with a covered section in case of rain or cold weather, comfortable bus type seats and fully equipped, WC) we visit the Uros floating Islands. Stepping on them feels very much like a water bed (but it is quite safe). We see the houses, the islands and meet its friendly inhabitants .Uros people are descendents of one of the oldest South American groups. Rides on traditional reed boats can be arranged. We visit two of the 30 islands before continuing on to Taquile Island.

Enjoy a relaxed navigation of 1 hour ( from the floating islands onto Taquile Island) , At arrival we have the chance to enjoy the spectacular views offered by Lake Titicaca, get to this unique place, by the south section of the island ( 10:15 am) , the less visited zone of Taquile Island . And hike for 30 minutes to reach the place chosen for a preformed exhibition of dances and some cultural traditional expressions, Lunch at a local house – restaurant. After lunch, accommodation at one of local home stays.

In the afternoon you will be leaded by a local guide to discover beautiful sections of the island and enjoy of and spectacular Sunset over Lake Titicaca. Return to the home stay for dinner & overnight.

Day 02.- Taquile / Puno.- Breakfast at the home stay, later at the mid morning hike to visit the central part of the island, visiting some pre-Incan ruins on the way and optionally hike to the top of the island, visit the communal shop, the main square .After Lunch our local guide will take you to the main port by an impressive stair way of about 500 steps down to the port , it requires some extra effort from your part, but the views are just worthy; we have to be there at 2:15 pm. Our boat back to Puno will depart back to Puno at 2:30pm approximately. Arrival in Puno at 4:45 pm approximately, and transfer back to your Hotel.

For day trips on to the Lake, you generally need very little, but the following items are advisable to carry in a day pack and /or wearing them on.

1. T-shirt, optionally long sleeved shirt
2. Long trousers, optionally shorts (extra)
3. Warm clothing and a jacket or a fleece
4. Rain coat or a poncho (only in the rainy season, December to march)
5. Hat and sun glasses
6. Sun screen (sun block) very important.
7. Walking shoes or boots
8. Camera and film
9. Money in Peruvian currency, take Small change with you to try and Change a S/.100 note is next to Impossible
10. Water 1 liter (more to buy at the Island).
11. Extra snacks (opt.) Biscuits, chocolates
12. Toilette paper ( only when overnighting)
