Taquile island is a spectacular place to stay overnight, and enjoy of the quietness and beauty of lake Titicaca, Taquile island is visited basically in day trips, when overnighting the traveler can observe the true face of the island, it remains quiet and serene, as well The island offers hidden landscapes y some pre –Incan remains to be discovered.

Day 1. - Uros / Taquile. - At 6:40 am transfer from your hotel to the port. Then by Semi – Fast motor boat (7:05 am), we visit the Uros floating Islands. Stepping on them feels very much like a water bed (but it is quite safe). We see the houses, the islands and meet its friendly inhabitants the Uros people. Rides on traditional reed boats can be arranged. We visit two of the 30 islands before continuing to Taquile Island. Later enjoy of 1 hour & 50 minutes, Semi – fast motor boat onto Taquile Island, while we get lectures about history & more. At arrival we have the chance to enjoy the spectacular views offered by Lake Titicaca, get to this unique place, by the south section of the island (10.45 am), the less visited zone of Taquile Island. And hike for 1 hour by a pre-Inca path way (soft and gradual hike) with impressive landscapes. Lunch while the members of the community will show us their dances, textiles and unique cultural expressions. After lunch, accommodation at one of local home stays. In the afternoon you will be leaded by a local guide to discover beautiful sections of the island and enjoy of and spectacular Sunset over Lake Titicaca. Return to the home stay for dinner & overnight.

Day 2.- Taquile / Puno.- Breakfast at the home stay, later morning hike to visit the central part of the island, visiting some pre-incan ruins on the way and optionally hike to the top of the island, visit the communal shop, the main square . Lunch at one of the local restaurants, After Lunch our local guide will take you to the main port by an impressive stair way of about 500 steps down to the port , it requires some extra effort from your part, but the views are just worthy; we have to be there at 2:15 pm. Our boat back to Puno will depart back to Puno at 2:30pm approximately. Arrival in Puno at 4:50 pm approximately, and transfer back to your Hotel.
