Bus Puno to Cusco or vice versa

An exceptional bus trip, from Puno city on the shores of Titicaca lake To Cusco, traversing the “ Altiplano” highlands slowly ascending up La Raya pass over 4,312 meters above sea level, and them descending down to Cusco City through a very scenic and impressive valley, Along the way we have the unique chance to have guided visits to ruins, churches, and other impressive sites that are not available in regular bus services. Itinerary :

Puno.- 7.30am depart from Puno the city on The shores of Titicaca lake where the  legends tell the first Incas emerged

Pukara.- Pre-Inka Archeological complex formed by semi – subterranean temples and stepped structures and monoliths  , it is the oldest remain on the region , 2000 B.C. Still an enigma for the Peruvian archeology.

La Raya pass. This is the highest point along the trip, (4312 meters above sea level) It is where the Vilcanota river born and later forms the sacred valley of the Incas.

Sicuani. - On this country side city we enjoy a buffet lunch which will give you a taste of the exquisite Peruvian cuisine.

Rajchi Wiracocha´s temple.-  A walled  archeological complex  formed by 14 smaller temples, 150 large circular buildings used  as storages, and the large wiracocha temple. Unique in its type.

Andahuaylillas Church. Considered to be the Sixtine Andean Chapel of America, on the picturesque village of Andahuaylillas , this small Church holds one of the most impressive examples of the colonial Architecture and paintings.

Cusco.- Welcome to the centre of the Incan empire ( 5.30pm arrival)

By Direct Bus. $16 usd.

A good alternative for the ones that want to travel direct from Puno to Cusco, in a comfortable bus, it does not stop, except for toilette facilities. Departs at 8am, arrives in Cusco at 3 pm. (Or vice versa)

By Regular Bus service. $ 13 usd. There are various public buses departing to Cusco almost every 3 hours, it regularly make some stops on the way to pick up passengers. Reservations can be done directly at the bus terminals. – Reservations on request
