Discover a hidden jewel at Lake Titicaca; Ticonata is a small island located at the north west of Lake Titicaca to 40 kilometers from Puno by lake, a place full of authentic culture, pre Incan archeological recent findings and spectacular landscapes, there Edgar Adventures has developed a true community based project (read about it ... Day 01. Uros / Llachon / Ticonata Island.

Get on board of an unforgettable travel experience, early depart by motor boat on the way visit the Uros reed floating islands and enjoy stepping on its interesting surface, reed boat rides can be arranged with the local fishermen. Continue in a 2 hour motor boat ride, arrival to the Peninsula of Capachica there we do a soft 1 hour walk , through an original pre-Inca path, the views are spectacular, while enjoying the country side life. Important Note: (Optionally kayaking on Llachon can be added, by request). Picnic Lunch by the lake. And continue by motor boat onto Ticonata Island. At arrival we are welcome by the community, and be leaded to our accommodation at the Ticonata Eco – Village formed by typical conical houses which are a copy of the pre –Incan houses on the area, the thatched roofs give the island a unique character. Short Hike to the ancient ritual place at the top of the hill still used by the locals in authentic ancestral ceremonies, sunsets are spectacular. What makes of this tourism based project a true sustainable project is that it involves people of a community that shares all the benefits & work equally between its members. Typical Dinner, bonfire and native dances preformed by the islanders, there are few places where we can breathe the essence of a culture. Here one of the wise man will tell us about their magic world and traditions, and the locals will tell us from first hand how the daily life and traditions are. While, enjoying the Milky Way stars. Day 02.- Ticonata / Amantani / Puno

After an early breakfast on native cereals, we traverse by sail boats onto Amantani island, experienced Taft fishermen and the west winds will take us to our destination that can take 2 to 3 hours depending on the season, and be ready to paddle the last bit if wanted, but if not our private escort motor boat will be ready to assist us. On Amantani Island visit the Village and have a pleasant soft walk to observe the locals, farming, herding, Lunch in a local house and some time to learn about the culture and people, later by motor boat return to Puno city, arrival at 4.30pm approximately.
